I'm back - With a Frankenstein Card and a Halloween Recap

I'm back after a much too long break from blogging.  Between computer problems and life, blogging took a back seat.  However, I've been crafting a ton and have a lot to share.  I'm going to start with these super cute Frankenstein cards I made for Halloween.  I used the Circle Card Thinlits Die from Stampin' Up!

I've seen several versions online and combined them to make mine.  I used the 'BOO' stamp that came in the September Paper Pumpkin and the 'happy halloween' from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Here are my kiddos all dressed up and ready to trick-or-treat.  Aren't they adorable?
Here's what they wore last year for Halloween.

And below is an overview of some of the things that were made for my daughter's 3rd grade class party.  Lots of fun stuff!

Hope you had a wonderful Halloween!  Come back for much more paper crafting goodies!

Happy Halloween 2013!

Happy Halloween!
As soon as I saw these Witches' Hats, I knew I had to make them. But I made a 'mini' version!  Perfect for 3 tootsie rolls.  I'm going to hand them out today to the ladies at my daughter's school.
In case you're wondering, I started with a 2 1/2" X 5" piece of cardstock.  The rest was scraps!

Here was my contribution to my daughter's class party yesterday.  I thought of it myself!  With all of the fun stuff on Pinterest, I just couldn't find something that was screaming to me to make.
I made regular Rice Krispie Treats, adding orange food coloring to the marshmallow mixture, and pressed the mixture into a greased bowl.  I actually did that twice - once for the top of the pumpkin and once for the bottom.  Then I pressed the 2 flat sides together and added tootsie rolls to the top.  (Can you tell I LOVE tootsie rolls?)

Halloween Fun - Bats & Pumpkins

My daughter and I made these cute little guys last week to give away!  I love making quick & easy chocolate gifts!

I usually use a 3" X 1" piece of cardstock to wrap the Hershey's nuggets, but this time, I made them a little wider (1-1/8") since I didn't want too much of the nugget to show from the top.
We used the Owl Punch to make the eyes and the white gel pen to make the mouth and fangs.
I used the 1-1/4" circle punch to punch the wings.  I cut that circle in half and then used a scallop square punch (retired) to make the scallops on the bottom.

Our family likes to carve pumpkins on the weekend before Halloween.  Here are the results of our annual tradition!  Let me know what you think!  Which one is your favorite??

left to right: Happy Pumpkin, Mickey Mouse, Heisenberg (from Breaking Bad), Ariel (The Little Mermaid) and a Scary Skeleton

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Punches:  Owl, 1-1/4" Circle, Scallop Square
Accessories: White Gel Pen

Tags 4 You Halloween File Card

Oh man!  This card was FUN and EASY.  I finally got to play with my new Envelope Punch Board.  I have seen so many of the file cards & Halloween cards online, so I mixed them all together and this is what I came up with.  I used the video tutorial from Patty Bennet for the file part of the card.  Then, I mixed a little of this and a little of that and BAM, I had my card.  But it was missing something, so I added some splatters in the background.  Exactly what it needed!
Can you see the spiders' bodies?  They're rhinestones colored with a Black Sharpie!

Fall Pumpkin

Here's a fun and easy decoration for fall. I used 12 - 1" X 6" strips of retired DSP to make this little guy. As much as I love this pumpkin, I REALLY love the leaves. They are SO easy and look SO cool. Punch the cardstock using an oval punch, score in half lengthwise and run folded through a crimper. The texture this technique gives is awesome! Give it a try!

This box is too cute! It's a 2-4-6-8 box - very easy! Have you figured out what the ghost is??? Yep, it's the Owl Punch turned up side down! I love how so many creative people have figured out multiple uses for the owl punch - it makes it totally worth buying!

Wicked Halloween Card

Here's a fun Halloween card that I used for a Halloween workshop recently. I almost totally CASEd a card from Angie Kennedy Juda's 12 weeks of Halloween card because the card used all of the products that I was wanting to show at the workshop. I did make a few minor changes. I think it is such a fun card. Here's a great tip I found somewhere online about images that are cut out - in this case, the witch's hat. I stamped the image on Whisper White, cut it out with my Paper Snips and then if there were any slivers of white outside of the image, I used my Stampin' Write marker to fill in the color. It makes it look like I can cut REALLY well! I just love that I won this stamp set and DSP at the Stampin' Up! convention in July. It's been really fun to use!

Top Note Frankenstein

Isn't this guy scary cute? I made him last year but never really got a chance to share him with anybody. Since it's time to start thinking Halloween, I thought I'd post him. I used the directions found here, but if I did it again, I would not go through the trouble of making a box from scratch. I would definitely use my Big Shot and probably the Fancy Favor Bag in the middle. Hmm...I'll have to try that soon!

~Enjoy!
