Gift Card Holder/Card

This is a fun (and easy) gift card holder that doubles as a card. I got something similar to this in a swap at Leadership and I just had to try it. We did this version recently at one of my Stamp Club meetings. Here it is completely closed...

Just slide the belly band off and it open as follows...

Isn't that fun? And there's plenty of room to write a greeting!

Catalog CASE - Just Believe

At my last group meeting, I challenged everyone to do a catalog CASE (copy and show everyone). My purpose for this was to show them what a great resource our Stampin' Up! catalog is. This is the card I did to swap with the group. I changed only a few things from the original card (page 97 of the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog) - for example, I paper pierced the outside edges (instead of sewing them).

Back from Nashville!

I just got back from Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN. I had a such a good time and learned so much! I can't wait to go again next year!
Here is the card that I made to swap with other demonstrators. I got some really great cards in return.

I used the Color Coach to find the "Dynamic Duo" for each color that I used. I inked the flowers with the Perfect Plum Ink Pad, added some Elegant Eggplant with a marker and then colored in the stem & leaves with Wild Wasabi & Garden Green Markers. Before I stamped the image, I used a sponge dauber and dabbed some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint on the flowers (you can't see it well in the picture). When the card was completed, I used the mixture of alcohol and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint in a spray bottle and sprayed 'glitter' all over the card. I love the sparkles! I just wish you could see it more in this picture!

Poppin Pastels with Retired Colors

This was the last card we did at my Stamp Club last month. I warned my girls that I was using retired colors - I have SO much paper in retired colors that I'd hate to see go to waste. They completely understood and were more interested in learning the technique anyway. Thank goodness. We stamped the flower image in VersaMark ink on Whisper White Cardstock and then used sponge daubers to apply pastels to the image. I CASEd (copy and show everyone) the card from Julie's card found here. Thanks for the great idea. I love simple cards that can show a great technique and give a big WOW when people see it being made. If you haven't tried this technique, give it a try! It gives you unlimited options for ink colors even if you don't have a lot of Stampin' Pads. All you need is VersaMark and Pastels!

Stamps: Just Believe
Paper: Brocade Blue CS, Whisper White CS, Mellow Moss CS
Ink:
VersaMark, Brocade Blue
Accessories: Pastels, Basic Pearls, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Sponge Daubers

Brayering Just Believe

Happy Monday! Here is another project we did at my stamp club recently. I hadn't used my brayer in a LONG time and I found this card online, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I probably need a bit more practice, but I wanted to show the technique of brayering and masking and I think my ladies liked it. I added a bit of paper piercing on the top left corner - though it is hard to see. It was a quick and easy card that sure came out pretty! What do you think?

Stamp Club Candy Wrapper & 20K update

I am SO loving this Candy Wrapper Die - especially now that I know how to fold the ends! I watched this video and it has made my life so much easier! (Thanks Meg!) This was one of the projects we did in my Stamp Club last week. I'll be showing the other 2 projects in the next few days. I really liked the look of the words layered over the circle image found on this card, so I used it on this project.

This past weekend, my family was in Dallas, TX and I ran the Tour des Fleur 20K. We were there and I needed to do a training run and didn't want to do it by myself. So I joined about 3,000 other people to run this beautiful race around White Rock Lake. It was a great run. Although I'm not the fastest runner, I was happy with my time especially since the 2nd half of the race was FULL of hills. Luckily, I had the advantage of high altitude training! :) My husband and daughter were waiting at the finish and my daughter ran through the finish line with me. She's now finished 2 marathons, several 1/2 marathons and a 20k. I'm not sure yet what my next race will be...stay tuned!

3x3 Convention Card

We made this card during Make & Takes at Convention this year. It is my favorite of all that we did. I'm always looking for simple, beautiful, single layer cards. I like to make them and put them in my customers orders. I also package them and use them as booking incentives at workshops.

Here's a few that I made when I got home using similar colors. I also used my new stamp set Just Believe.

(Supplies for Convention version of card)
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzaz

Stamps: Just Believe
Accessories: Stamping Sponges
Mask for circle is made using the largest circle from the Circles #2 Originals die & the Big Shot
