Happy Halloween 2013!

Happy Halloween!
As soon as I saw these Witches' Hats, I knew I had to make them. But I made a 'mini' version!  Perfect for 3 tootsie rolls.  I'm going to hand them out today to the ladies at my daughter's school.
In case you're wondering, I started with a 2 1/2" X 5" piece of cardstock.  The rest was scraps!

Here was my contribution to my daughter's class party yesterday.  I thought of it myself!  With all of the fun stuff on Pinterest, I just couldn't find something that was screaming to me to make.
I made regular Rice Krispie Treats, adding orange food coloring to the marshmallow mixture, and pressed the mixture into a greased bowl.  I actually did that twice - once for the top of the pumpkin and once for the bottom.  Then I pressed the 2 flat sides together and added tootsie rolls to the top.  (Can you tell I LOVE tootsie rolls?)

Halloween Fun - Bats & Pumpkins

My daughter and I made these cute little guys last week to give away!  I love making quick & easy chocolate gifts!

I usually use a 3" X 1" piece of cardstock to wrap the Hershey's nuggets, but this time, I made them a little wider (1-1/8") since I didn't want too much of the nugget to show from the top.
We used the Owl Punch to make the eyes and the white gel pen to make the mouth and fangs.
I used the 1-1/4" circle punch to punch the wings.  I cut that circle in half and then used a scallop square punch (retired) to make the scallops on the bottom.

Our family likes to carve pumpkins on the weekend before Halloween.  Here are the results of our annual tradition!  Let me know what you think!  Which one is your favorite??

left to right: Happy Pumpkin, Mickey Mouse, Heisenberg (from Breaking Bad), Ariel (The Little Mermaid) and a Scary Skeleton

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Punches:  Owl, 1-1/4" Circle, Scallop Square
Accessories: White Gel Pen

Labels Card Thinlits Christmas Card Swap

Here is my swap for the annual SUFriendsForever Christmas Card Swap.  I made close to 20 of these babies and they were super quick (considering how complicated they look) using the new Label Card Thinlit Die from Stampin' Up!.

Below:  This is what the card looks like partially open.
I used a 5-1/2" X 8-1/2" piece of cardstock and only put part of it beneath the thinlit.  I followed the tutorial for the extended flip card found here

Here's is the card fully opened.  I left some space on the far right panel for writing.

I used one of my favorite color combinations - Pool Party and  Island Indigo.  I also used a stamp set from the Holiday Catalog that I won at Convention this year - Christmas Messages.  The snowflakes and 'Merry' came from a stamp set that was in last year's holiday catalog and is still available - Snowflake Soiree.

Cardstock: Pool Party, Whisper White
Ink: Pool Party, Island Indigo
Stamps: Snowflake Soiree, Christmas Messages
Accessories:  Big Shot, Labels Card Thinlits, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder

~Enjoy!

Tags 4 You Halloween File Card

Oh man!  This card was FUN and EASY.  I finally got to play with my new Envelope Punch Board.  I have seen so many of the file cards & Halloween cards online, so I mixed them all together and this is what I came up with.  I used the video tutorial from Patty Bennet for the file part of the card.  Then, I mixed a little of this and a little of that and BAM, I had my card.  But it was missing something, so I added some splatters in the background.  Exactly what it needed!
Can you see the spiders' bodies?  They're rhinestones colored with a Black Sharpie!

Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Summer Starfruit, Witches' Brew DSP
Ink: Black StazOn
Stamps: Tags 4 You, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Gorgeous Grunge
Accessories:  Envelope Punch Board, Rhinestones, Witches' Brew Designer Washi Tape

Thoughts & Prayers - Thinking of You Card

I guess I'm on a purple kick these days!  It IS my favorite color, after all, so I guess it's OK to use it a lot.  I chose Perfect Plum for this card because it's such a soothing color.  (At least for me!)

The idea for this card came from here.   Dawn used her clear block to stamp the background, but since I never seem to like the way it looks when I do it, I decided to make a stencil and sponge the background.  I cut out a separate piece of cardstock the same size as the Whisper White piece and after placing the Window Frame right where I wanted, I used my Big Shot to cut it out.  Then I just had to align this stencil with my Whisper White piece and sponge away!
I love that this card was easy to make yet has so much dimension to it.  I hope you like my take on this card!

 ~Enjoy!
