Christmas Gift Swap 2012

Did I say that I don't sew?  Well...  I got out the sewing machine.  And I actually sewed something.  And now I'm addicted.  Ugh.

I came across a tutorial for these Tissue Holders and I thought they looked easy enough.  So I made a 'few'.  Those 'few' turned into 22.  And I want to make more.  Crazy, I know.  But they are 'SEW' easy!  (ha ha)

I embellished them by using a 'yo-yo' and some retired Cherry Cobbler ribbon.  To make the 'yo-yo', I cut a circle using the Circles #2 die (the 2-1/2" circle).  I folded in the edges of the circle and hand sewed a loose stitch around the edges.  Then I pulled it tight and secured it to the Tissue Holder along with the ribbon.  Easy Peasy!

Since they were fairly easy to make, I had lots of fabric and they are light enough to ship, these are my SUFriendsForever Christmas Gift swap for this year.  I hope the ladies enjoy these!
These would also make great teachers gifts!

This fabric is currently available on the Clearance Rack for only $0.99!! While supplies last!

Accessories: Big Shot, Designer Fabric (Deck the Halls), Circles #2 Die, Cherry Cobbler Ribbon (Retired)

Fabric Flower Embellishment

Another No-Sew Project!  Love it!  This idea came from Stampin' Success - the Demonstrator only magazine that we get every other month filled with great ideas.  A quick, easy way to decorate one of our Kraft Gift Boxes (4 for only $2.95!).

Since I used the Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons - which are clear- I punched out and added a small circle of Cherry Cobbler cardstock to add some color under the button.

This fabric is currently available on the Clearance Rack for only $0.99!! While supplies last!

Fabric Scissors Holder

Let me start this by saying I DON'T SEW.   This Fabric Scissors Holder is a perfect project for me because you can do it without any sewing at all.  I originally saw this idea at Convention 2012 and just knew I had to make one.  So, we made these at my November Stamp Club.  The idea, along with a great video, can be found here on Laura Milligan's blog.  She presented both a no-sew version and a version that can you can sew if you choose.  The great thing is that they fit Stampin' Up!s paper snips perfectly!

And, even better, the fabric can currently be purchased on the Clearance Rack for only $0.99!! While supplies last!

Accessories: Big Shot, Petal Cone Die, Fabric Adhesive Roll, Designer Fabric (Candy Cane Christmas), Fun Flowers Die, Big Designer Buttons - Candy Cane, Real Red 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Wild Wasabi 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon

Fall Birthday

Here is a simple card that I made for a shoebox swap with my group of demonstrators using a technique that I recently came across on someone's blog.  Connie Stewart came up with the concept of making Cards in Flash.  This concept has completely changed the way I will design cards for classes.  So simple!!!  She has several examples and each day I check her blog for a new video.  After seeing this concept, every card I see I evaluate it to see if I can make it 'in a flash'.  So, this card used the Flash Card concept on the card found here.  I have to admit that I cheated just a bit - since I was using DSP, I changed the size of it to 4" X 3".  After all, the whole idea is to cut down on wasted paper!  :)

I hope you enjoy!

Ink: Early Espresso

2012 Holiday Catalog Swap

I'm part of a group of ladies who are or have been Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  We usually have a swap or two every few months.  This card is a swap that I made featuring items in the Holiday Catalog.  I was hoping to show how the Scentsational Season stamp set could be used for something other than Christmas...  Maybe Valentines???

Tip:  Ink up the cocoa cup stamp using Primrose Petals ink.  Then use a Blender Pen to 'erase' the cocoa in the cup.  Color the cocoa using an Early Espresso marker.  I did this so I wouldn't have pink cocoa!

Don't you LOVE that Glimmer Paper?

Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla, Primrose Petals, Early Espresso, Champagne Glimmer Paper
Ink: Primrose Petals, Early Espresso
Stamps:  Scentsational Season, Mixed Medley
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Holiday Collection Framelits Dies,
Punches: 1-1/4" Scallop Circle, 1" Circle, 3/4" Circle, Scallop Edge Border, Heart

Convention 2012 Roommate Gift

Speaking of Convention...  It's traditional to have gifts for your roommate.  I LOVE making gifts so this makes me happy.  Here is the gift set that I gave my roommate.  I made another set for my downline who attended Convention as well.

This small package is a chocolate nugget holder.  I'll post directions for this little guy soon.  It's SO easy and really cute.

The middle gift is a hand sanitizer holder.  Can't hurt to have that at Convention!  It would also make a great teacher gift!

And, of course, more chocolate...  Can NEVER have enough of that at Convention (or anytime for that matter!).   I'll try to post some directions for this package soon, too.

I hope you like these gift ideas!
~Enjoy!

Double Peek-a-Boo Card - Convention 2012 WOW Swap

Here it is!  My twist on the card shown here.   I made about 20 of these to swap at Convention this year.  I got the GREATEST reaction when I showed how the card worked.  That made me SO happy!  :)
Sorry for the blurry picture - I used a technique that I've been dying to try and the glitter didn't photograph so well.  I learned the technique at the Albuquerque Regional that Stampin' Up! had here last Fall (2011).   Put a small gob of Dazzling Details in a container and add a few drops of reinker (I used the lid of a package of brads).  Mix with a toothpick and then paint!  Easy Peasy!  I used Daffodil Delight reinker since that was the color of ribbon I had and it worked will with the Ducks.

Here's is the card as it's being opened...

And here's the inside when it's fully opened!

Cardstock: Island Indigo, Whisper White
Ink: StazOn Black
Stamps:  Every Little Bit, Petite Pairs
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Dazzling Details, Daffodil Delight Re-inker, Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker, Daffodil Delight 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon
Punches: 1-3/8" Circle, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle, Scallop Edge Border

I hope you like it!  Let me know what you think!
~Enjoy!

Double Peek-a-Boo Card - CASE

OMG!  This is my favorite card - EVER!  I found a video on how to make this card and instantly fell in love!  It's a MOVING card.  How fun is that?  As you open the card, the sentiments move over the flowers.
I used the color combination from page 134 in the 2012-2013 Annual Catalog.  So pretty!

This is the card fully opened (well almost - that was hard to photograph with one hand!).  When it's opened, you can see the hidden messages come out.  SO FUN!!

Come back soon and see my twist on this card for my Convention WOW swap.

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Ink: Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade
Stamps:  Bright Blossoms, Petite Pairs
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder
Punches: 1-3/8" Circle, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle, Scallop Edge Border

Enjoy!

Fancy Favor Turned into a Box - Part 2

THIS is the box that was chosen for a Stamp Camp project.  We were looking for bolder colors and this fit the bill.

For the outside of the box, I just used DSP and the Fancy Favor Die with the Big Shot.  Below are the directions that I used for the inside part that slides into the Fancy Favor to complete the box.  They are based on the directions we got at Leadership.  However, when I actually did the cutting/scoring for this part of the box, I used a 8-1/2 X 11 sheet and adjusted each of the vertical score lines to the left by 1/4".

Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Big Top Birthday DSP
Ink: Real Red
Stamps:  Mixed Bunch
Accessories: Big Shot, Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die, Designer Buttons (Brights), White Baker's Twine, Real Red Satin Ribbon
Punches: Blossom
