Christmas Wrapped Nuggets

I love making these little nugget gifts!  They are super easy using the Designer Series Paper Stacks.  They are another cute & inexpensive gift to hand out.  I sold these at a Holiday Boutique and sold many as teacher's gifts.  Here is another version I made last year.

Snowman Tealight Pin

These Snowmen are, again, a combination of several I've seen online.  I took what I liked best and made it my own.  These were the inspiration for the Thanksgiving Turkey Lights.

It was really hard to take a picture with the tealight on, but here is the best one I got.

These were a big hit at a Holiday Boutique that I participated in.  I also made a table decoration.

Envelope Punch Board Gift Box

I used the Envelope Punch Board to make a small gift box to hold a gift for the ladies in my group.  The package included the single stamp A Gift for You.   With the depth this box has, you could put several gift cards in it!

Curly Paper Christmas Tree

Here is what I made for my Stampin' Up! gift for our White Elephant Gift Exchange at our Holiday Group meeting last night.  I saw this Christmas tree and video tutorial on Patty's blog and HAD to give it a shot.  I figured it was a great way to use the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack.

I changed the dimensions that Patty used so I would minimize scraps. I cut the paper stack into 1/2" strips along the 6-1/2" side for the bottom of the tree (1/2" X 6-1/2").  Towards the top, I turned the paper stack 90 degrees and cut 1/2" strips along the 4-1/2" side (1/2" X 4-1/2").  I also made my own tree topper using 4 scallop circles punched out of Silver Glimmer Paper.

I love the way it came out.  I can't wait to make another one!  This one took me a little over an hour (while watching Homeland!) and was very inexpensive.

I'll share what I received in the Gift Exchange later.

Punches:  Scallop Circle Punch

Stampin' Up! and School Projects - Part 2

Here's another of my daughter's school projects using Stampin' Up! products (see her race care here.)  One of her homework assignments was to help disguise this turkey so that it could survive through Thanksgiving.  She chose to make it into a mermaid.  We used the Bow Die to create the tail.  I die cut the 'tail' from a scrap piece of paper and then enlarged it on the printer until we had the size we wanted to use.  We cut that out and used it as a template to cut the tail out of felt.  We punched a scrap piece of paper using the scallop circle punch and used that as a template to cut the bra out of felt.  Then we added some yarn hair.  Fun!

Stampin' Up! and School Projects - Part 1

Before I start showing a lot of the holiday projects I've been working on, I thought I'd share a few projects that I helped my daughter with using my Stampin' Up! supplies.  Who knew they'd come in so handy?

For the past 2 years, my daughter has participated in the Awana Grand Prix using a Pinewood Derby car kit.  Last year she made a hot pink car based on one of her brother's toy batmobiles and ended up with 1st place in Speed (we used glitter spray on that car).  This year, she wanted a turtle car - she loves the PBS show Wild Kratts and they have a ship called The Tortuga.  SO, our version of The Tortuga was born.  My husband did an awesome job creating the turtle shape on the car.  He then spray painted the car gray.  Meanwhile, I created a template using Honeycomb Embossing Folder.  I embossed copy paper, then used an exacto knife to cut out the insides of the honeycombs.  We taped the template to the car and sprayed painted the green. Voila!  We had a Tortuga.  Her car was very fast, but she wanted to go for 1st in Design and she won!

Thanksgiving Turkey Treats

Just before Thanksgiving, I participated in a Vendor Fair and had these little goodies available for sale.  They were inspired by this project.  They were fun to make and used up a lot of my stash of scraps.  I made extras to give to the ladies at my daughter's school.  They even inspired the baby shower treats and decor for a friend.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hello Baby Turkey Treats

These 'hello baby' turkey treats were another request by my friend for the baby shower she was hosting just before Thanksgiving.  These treats were a spin on another treat I had made (will share those tomorrow).  All of the decor for the shower was turkey related.  See my Turkey Lights that were also part of the decor.

Thanksgiving Turkey Lights

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!  I spent a lot of time with family.  In fact, I'd hoped to post this and another project last week, but time got away from me.
These lights came about via another project.  I had some snowman lights (will share those later) and a friend said she needed Turkey lights for a baby shower she was throwing right before Thanksgiving.  I was up for the challenge and here is what I came up with.  Pretty cute, huh?
The pictures were hard to take with the tea lights on, but I think you can get the idea.

Fall Thank You Card

Here's another fall card.  I love the colors on this card.  I also really like using the Autumn Accents Bigz Die.   I die cut the leaves then crumpled them up.  I un-crumpled them and then sponged all over with early espresso to give them some extra texture and dimension.

I used my handy dandy Big Shot, my Autumn Accents Bigz Die and an Alphabet to create this door decoration for my daughter's 2nd grade class.  Another mom and I had a great time decorating.  We had each kid in the class write something they were grateful for on the leaves.  I combined a few tutorials from online to make the Pilgrims.   Aren't they cute?

Triple Time Stamping - Fall Card

It's finally getting cold enough here for the leaves to start falling.  Our backyard has a blanket of leaves and my daughter can't wait to make piles to jump into.
This card is perfect for this time of year.  I made it last year and I haven't shared it, but I still think it is SO pretty!  And it's SO much easier than it looks.  I used the directions/measurements found here

The card moves to reveal the center as you open it up.  Fun!

Happy Halloween 2013!

Happy Halloween!
As soon as I saw these Witches' Hats, I knew I had to make them. But I made a 'mini' version!  Perfect for 3 tootsie rolls.  I'm going to hand them out today to the ladies at my daughter's school.
In case you're wondering, I started with a 2 1/2" X 5" piece of cardstock.  The rest was scraps!

Here was my contribution to my daughter's class party yesterday.  I thought of it myself!  With all of the fun stuff on Pinterest, I just couldn't find something that was screaming to me to make.
I made regular Rice Krispie Treats, adding orange food coloring to the marshmallow mixture, and pressed the mixture into a greased bowl.  I actually did that twice - once for the top of the pumpkin and once for the bottom.  Then I pressed the 2 flat sides together and added tootsie rolls to the top.  (Can you tell I LOVE tootsie rolls?)

Introducing the Incredible Hulk and Daphne from Scooby Doo! Too Fun!

Halloween Fun - Bats & Pumpkins

My daughter and I made these cute little guys last week to give away!  I love making quick & easy chocolate gifts!

I usually use a 3" X 1" piece of cardstock to wrap the Hershey's nuggets, but this time, I made them a little wider (1-1/8") since I didn't want too much of the nugget to show from the top.
We used the Owl Punch to make the eyes and the white gel pen to make the mouth and fangs.
I used the 1-1/4" circle punch to punch the wings.  I cut that circle in half and then used a scallop square punch (retired) to make the scallops on the bottom.

Our family likes to carve pumpkins on the weekend before Halloween.  Here are the results of our annual tradition!  Let me know what you think!  Which one is your favorite??

left to right: Happy Pumpkin, Mickey Mouse, Heisenberg (from Breaking Bad), Ariel (The Little Mermaid) and a Scary Skeleton
