Fresh Vintage Sympathy Card

Sympathy cards are never fun to have to use but are always good to have on hand.  We did this simple, yet elegant card at one of my card classes.   It's a great way to use the Fresh Vintage stamp set if you got it FREE during Sale-a-bration.  The Whisper White textured background can be changed using any of our embossing folders.  For this card, I used the Texturz plates that are now retired.
Tip:  For the Elegant Eggplant frame, I cut the same size framelits in both Whisper White (after I stamped the image, so I could line it up) and in Elegant Eggplant.  I cut the Elegant Eggplant one in half and then separated and attached it to the Whisper White piece.  Then I trimmed the edges that peeked out from the top and bottom.

Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Ink: Elegant Eggplant
Stamps: Fresh Vintage (SAB 2012), Loving Thoughts
Accessories: Big Shot, Texturz Plates (retired), Labels Collection Framelits

Be sure to check my Events page for information on my Monthly Card Classes.  I'm also starting a new Stamp Club this month and have a few spots left.
I am planning several new classes in the next few months including an 8x8 scrapbook class and Christmas card classes.  I hope to see you at some of my events!

Happy Birthday Miss Phillips!

My daughter's kindergarten teacher's birthday is today.  We had a great time making this gift together.  She LOVES when she gets to use 'mommy's' stuff.  She even picked her teacher's favorite colors - TCU's colors - for the gift.  We also included wrapped chocolates for a weight inside the vase.  I sure hope Miss Phillips likes it!

Have a great day Miss Phillips!

Easter Carrot

This carrot was done in my recent Big Shot class using the Petal Cone die. It is a combination of many different ones that I've seen around. I especially like the crimped paper on top.
I'm definitely using the Petal Cone die more than I thought I would. Now that I see how versatile it is, I am loving it!

Hopefully in this picture you can see the texture that was added to the 'carrot' part using a texture plate.

I hope you all had a great Easter!
~Enjoy!

Diaper Cake

A very dear friend of my family had her baby over the weekend. How exciting! Her baby shower was last month and since I love to make diaper cakes this is what she got for her gift. I used the super easy tutorial found here.

I made it to match her baby shower invitations (which I helped her design). She didn't know the gender of the baby, so she went with bright colors. Actually, the design and colors of everything was based off of the plates she bought for the shower!

And of course, a matching card. Isn't it cool how the Daisy die kinda matches the design on the plates?

~Enjoy

Custom Texture Plate

This card is so much fun! I used it for a shoebox swap at Convention and for a Big Shot Class last month. I cased the card from Dawn O. and used her awesome tutorial found here. Thank you for such a great idea!
You can't see it well in the picture, but there is a Basic Black card base. I used Summer Sun (retired) for this card, but for my swap, I used Daffodil Delight.
Once you make the plate, the rest is super easy! Give it a try!
