Mini Pizza Box Gift Holder

This box has been finished in my mind for several days now, I just needed to actually finish it by adding the embellishments.  My niece's birthday was yesterday and she had asked for a specific necklace.  Well, I needed a box to put it in, so it was the perfect opportunity to just FINISH this box already!!

The box itself is really easy and you can easily get 2 boxes per one sheet of cardstock.
Here are the measurements:
Start with cardstock 7-1/4" x 4".
Score the long side at 3/4", 3-1/4", 4" and 6-1/2".
Score the short side at 3/4" and 3-1/4".
Then embellish!

The measurements and inspiration for this project were found HERE.  Thanks Becky!

To make the flower topper, I used my Big Shot and the Fun Flowers Bigz Die.  I lightly sprayed water on each flower piece and then scrunched them up in my hand.  I let them dry and then attached them all together (and to the belly band) using a small silver brad.  The flowers held their shape after they dried. So pretty!

This also fits in as part of the Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew Challenge for March:
  • CCREW0314SF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Show us something you love on a scrapbook page, This n That or 3D project!

I LOVE to make 3-D projects and had to try this as soon as I saw it.
    ~Enjoy!

Cardstock:  Pool Party, Island Indigo, Sweet Sorbet DSP (SAB)
Accessories:  Big Shot, Fun Flower Bigz Die, Silver Brads

Happy St. Patrick's Birthday!

I have a few birthdays in my family on St. Patrick's day, so I wanted to give a go at a green-themed birthday card.  It also worked out as part of the Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew Challenge for March:
  • CCREW0314HF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- For this challenge, make a birthday card in purple (for St. Urho) or green (for St. Patrick). Use a technique or layout that you love!
I've seen this type of card all over and have wanted to try it for awhile.  I used the directions/tutorial found here for the card assembly.  It was super easy!
The almost-finished card needed something, so I got out my handy dandy green Sharpie and colored some rhinestones.  I love how they finished it off.  I needed to keep it somewhat masculine and even with the little 'bling' it's not too girlie.  What do you think?

I also used a quick tutorial on how to make the shamrock from the Pansy Punch HERE.  Easy Peasy!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Sweet Sorbet DSP (SAB)

Ink: Crumb Cake
Stamps: Happy Hour, Wacky Wishes
Accessories: Rhinestones
Punches: 2-1/2" Circle, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle, Pansy, Banner
Other: Sharpie

Sweet Sorbet meets Scalloped Tag Topper Punch

After having such a hard time using the color Crisp Cantaloupe in cards, I'm starting to warm up to this color!  Using the Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper makes it so much easier to find coordinating colors that look great together.  I've seen this style of card using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch all over the internet, but it wasn't until I watched this video that I decided to give it a whirl.  I was also inspired by this lovely card

The colors in this Designer Series Paper (DSP) are really pretty together and make creating a beautiful card easy!  I'm thinking this is a great card for the Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew Challenge for March:

  • CCREW0314DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM-- DSP/Color Focus: Make us fall in love with your favorite DSP! You can use any current DSP from the annual, Occasions, or Sale-A-Bration catalogs!

Live Happy Chocolate Treat and Leadership Recap

I'm still playing catch up on sharing some projects and today it worked out great to share this little gift of chocolate.  I made these as part of my roommate gift package for my roommates/friends at Leadership in Houston in January.  I used the Envelope Punch Board and was able to crank these out in a flash.  I had the mini Hershey's bars and used the instructions found HERE

I'm also sharing these as part of the Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew Challenge for March:
  • CCREW0314CF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Catalog Focus: Envelope Punch Board or Simply Scored. Show us what you love about these awesome tools!
As soon as I saw that you could create so many 3-D projects with the Envelope Punch Board, I HAD to have it!

Speaking of Leadership Roommates...

We had SOOOO much fun!  I can't even begin to say how great it was to spend several days with these ladies!  I know we are all counting down the days until we can see each other again at Convention!

Bright & Cheery 'Window' Card

I finally dusted off some colors that I hadn't played with before.  The newest In Colors are a bit of a challenge for me to use so I dared myself to find a way to use the color Crisp Cantaloupe.  Thanks to my handy Color Coach, I saw the combination of Soft Suede and Crisp Cantaloupe that I knew I could work with.  I combined these colors with the one of the Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew Challenges for February.
  • CCREW0214CF - Catalog focus: punches!
Stampin'Up! has so many great punches that make our cardmaking that much more fun. Use a punch or punches to create a window card.
Now a 'window' card can be interpreted MANY different ways, but since I'd recently come across a card in my craft room that I'd made a LONG time ago with the same layout, I decided to go with this kind of window card.
I have to admit, it bothers me that the flowers are not centered (perfectionist, I know) but it was intentional.  Actually, I was hoping they'd be more random on the squares, but I went with what I got.   I'm happy I dusted off the Crisp Cantaloupe...finally.

Cardstock: Crisp Cantaloupe, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Soft Suede

Stampin' Up! Language of Love Valentine

I always get inspired by looking at other people's cards.  I'm not sure how I came upon this card, but I loved the look AND the layout.   I figured it was the perfect time to ink up one of the new stamps sets that I received at the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference last month - Language of Love.  This was also a great card for my card classes to do - it's easy to duplicate.

Not only is this a great Valentine's Day Card, but this card also fits in with one of the Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew Challenges for February.
  • CCREW0214SF- Scrapbook and More Focus: Random Acts of Kindness Day is February 17.   Send a RAK to someone this month after you share it with us. This can be anything!
I think this fits!  What do you think?

Glitterly Flower Fun & Stampin' Up! Leadership 2014!!

I'm on my way to Houston this week for this year's Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference.  I'm so excited!  As much as I love Convention, this is my favorite Stampin' Up! Event - I love the business classes and the loads of inspiration that is always around.  Plus, it is so much more intimate than Convention.

I was lucky enough (and quick enough) to sign up for a high quality swap that I've been wanting to participate in for years.  I combined several things for this card:
  • 1st - another Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew Challenge for January (CCREW0114CF):  All the world is glittery! Show me something with glitter, it can be a glitter technique, glitter sheets, anything that glitters!
  • 3rd - some fun new DSP from the Occasions Catalog.  This catalog went live on Jan 3.  See it HERE now!   Shop HERE.

I hope this card is good enough for the ladies participating in this swap.  I sure enjoyed making it!  Really, the pictures don't do the glitter justice (it's really hard to photograph all the bling!)
Stay tuned for more Creative Crew Challenge projects!

Happy New Year & SCS Creative Crew!!!

Happy New Year!  I can hardly believe it's 2014!!  The holidays came so quickly and were done just as fast.  I'm looking forward to all that the new year will bring.

First off - I've been a member of Splitcoaststampers (SCS) for a very long time.  It's been a great source of inspiration for me and I've met many virtual friends through this site.  Recently, I was honored to be asked to be on the Creative Crew and post some of my projects based on challenges.  Here is my first project:

The 1st challenge (CCREW0114DF): January in Michigan can be like a Crystal Ball: Icy, Shimmery, White, cool blues, soft pinks, all mixed up with some earthy tones of red berries, evergreens, and tree branches all coated with clear stuff! See an inspiration photo attached (didn't load well, but at least you get the color ideas).  Show us your take on Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, using some cool wintery colors listed above.

I interpreted the challenge a little bit.  I wasn't feeling the new Fancy Foil Designer Vellum (yet!) so I went with the colors in the inspiration photo.  And I used the layout I had used before HERE.  I love this layout.

Stay tuned for more projects from the different challenges!
~Enjoy!
